14 January, 2020

Wellington Airport CEO Steve Sanderson reported New Zealand is most likely to "see security at the front door, probably in the next five years as well" (Stuff, 10-Jan-2020). E tū union reported New Zealand's "regional turboprop flying is generally safe in New Zealand but there is still a risk, and the overall security of the wider network is obviously vital". The union stated: "Screening regional passengers and cargo is inevitable but before it can happen there needs to be changes to airport and air cargo facilities".
