Ryanair CEO to step back from day to day management to allow airline to 'reboot'

11 March, 2019

Ryanair CEO Michael O'Leary said he will step back from the day to day management of the airline, allowing the company to "reboot" (Irish Times/City AM, 08-Mar-2019). Commenting on the perception that his leadership style has become a distraction for the LCC, Mr O'Leary said: "I think one of the negatives of Ryanair is its association with me, I'm an easy person to target... Too much of the negativity that attracts itself to Ryanair attaches itself because of something stupid I said 25 years ago".
