WOW air downsizes Airbus fleet from 20 to 11 to improve liquidity

WOW air will reduce its A320 fleet from 20 to 11 (Routes Online, 13-Dec-2018). The sale is expected to improve WOW's liquidity by USD10 million. CEO Skuli Mogensen said: "This is the most difficult day in the history of WOW air. In order to ensure our future and preserve WOW air in the long run, we unfortunately must take these drastic measures". As previously reported by CAPA, WOW air and Indigo Partners initiated diligence meetings on 05-Dec-2018, following the signing of an in principle agreement for Indigo to invest in the carrier.
