WestJet expects CASM to grow up to 8.5% in 2Q2018 as fleet grows and product improves

9 May, 2018

WestJet reported (08-May-2018) CASM is expected to increase 7.5% to 8.5% year-on-year in 2Q2018, driven by WestJet Encore operating with eight more aircraft, an "elevated" onboard product across its narrowbody fleet and increased maintenance for leased aircraft. The carrier is also continuing investment in the business to support Swoop, its future Boeing 787 deliveries and the infrastructure required to deliver on its strategic plan. WestJet now expects FY2018 CASM to be up 2.5% to 3.5%. [more - original PR]
