Western Australia Tourism Council reports interstate tourism marketing success

Western Australia Tourism Council announced (16-Jul-2019) the success of government investment in marketing and events to attract visitors to the state. Western Australia Tourism Council CEO Evan Hall stated: "Tourism WA has switched from showing fluffy television ads on the east coast to focusing on selling good value airline deals, accommodation and tours offered by the tourism industry". According to national visitor survey results for the year ended Mar-2019, interstate visitation increased 16% year-on-year, with spending increasing 22% to AUD1.7 billion (USD1.2 billion).
