Western Australia scheduled to receive more than 500,000 additional seats from key Asian markets

Western Australia's (WA) Government announced (13-Jan-2020) more than 500,000 new seats from key Asian markets through Perth Airport were announced in 2019. All Nippon Airways, China Eastern Airlines and Philippine Airlines are expected to deliver the increase of passengers with the launch of nonstop services from Tokyo, Shanghai and Manila respectively. Perth Airport reported if China Eastern Airlines commits to a regular service after its trial, scheduled to operate from 15-Jan-2020 and 17-Feb-2020, it will increase visitor spend by AUD40 million (USD27.6 million). Western Australia Tourism Minister Paul Papalia stated: "Last financial year, international holiday visitors were the highest on record for WA, with the number of holiday visitors increasing by 12.8% to 506,300 - the strongest growth rate of all of Australia's States and Territories" and "it is great news that in 2020 we are welcoming new seats into Perth".
