Western Australia in active talks regarding direct service to India

Western Australia‘s Tourism Minister Paul Papalia stated India is his next “nonstop target”, revealing Tourism WA is currently negotiating with an Indian airline (9News, 13-Mar-2018). “To India, we’re open to discussions with any airline but I can tell you that my office and Tourism WA have been talking with one [airline] in particular, which sounds very promising”. The Government will send a key delegation to India in “coming months”, as it targets a direct service from India, which is the largest source of international students for the state. “There is a great opportunity there”, Mr Papalia said. Almost a third of international students to Perth come from India.
