Western Australia's Tourism Minister Paul Papalia stated India is his next "nonstop target", revealing Tourism WA is currently negotiating with an Indian airline (9News, 13-Mar-2018). "To India, we're open to discussions with any airline but I can tell you that my office and Tourism WA have been talking with one [airline] in particular, which sounds very promising". The Government will send a key delegation to India in "coming months", as it targets a direct service from India, which is the largest source of international students for the state. "There is a great opportunity there", Mr Papalia said. Almost a third of international students to Perth come from India.
