Wellington Airport releases proposed 2040 master plan

Wellington Airport unveiled (22-Oct-2019) its proposed 2040 master plan to accommodate future growth for the region. The master plan includes terminal expansion, runway and taxiway system improvements, new freight facilities, additional aircraft parking stands and a modern fire station. The plans also accommodate rapid transport from Wellington's city centre. The airport is predicted to increase its economic contribution from NZD2.3 billion (USD1.4 billion) to NZD4.3 billion (USD2.7 billion), facilitate 22,000 jobs and an increase in travellers from 6.4 million to 12 million by 2040.
