Webjet targeting growth of three to five times the market average

    Webjet MD John Guscic reported (23-Aug-2018) the following outlook for its business to consumer (B2C) and business to business (B2B) segments:

    • B2C: As the largest OTA in Australasia, Webjet is “well positioned for ongoing bookings growth as the B2C market continues to shift online”. Webjet is continuing to target B2C booking growth rates of more than three times the underlying market for FY2019 and FY2020. The company also sees significant growth opportunities in its packages business and will continue to improve ancillary offerings to meet growing customer demand for a wider choice of travel products;
    • B2B: Segment distribution network has staff in 30 countries selling to over 170 destination countries through clients in more than 130 source markets. This network and scale “provides us with an unparalleled opportunity to grow the business significantly faster than underlying market growth rates”. There are “considerable growth opportunities ahead of us” as the global B2B industry continues to consolidate. Webjet remains committed to targeting bookings growth rates for B2B of more than five times the underlying market for FY2019 and FY2020. [more – original PR]
