WA to allocate USD21.6m for marketing agreements to drive new routes: Tourism Minister

Western Australia (WA) Tourism Minister Paul Papalia said AUD30 million (USD21.6 million) in Government funding contributions would be used for marketing agreements with carriers to "help drive demand for the new routes", citing India, China and Japan (The Weekend West, 01-Sep-2018). Mr Papalia added: "This sends a message to the world that we mean business and want to build Perth Airport as the western gateway to Australia". According to OAG, Perth Airport serves 46 nonstop destinations including 11 in Asia Pacific.
