Volaris: 'Airlines will see the benefit of reduced capacity in the market'

5 May, 2020

Volaris CEO Henrique Beltranena, speaking on CAPA TV, commented (02-May-2020) on the expected recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic, stating: "We believe there will be two phases of recovery". He added the first phase is the "immediate aftermath of the crisis, when airlines will return into the market with limited capacity and reduced network". He commented on this first phase, stating: "We will see low fares stimulate demand and bring travellers back on airplanes". He commented on the second phase, in which "from six to nine month, we expect the return of about 75% of original capacity". He concluded: "Airlines will see the benefit of reduced capacity in the market and fares as well as load may recover". [more - CAPA TV]
