VivaAerobus announced (01-Mar-2018) plans to launch twice weekly Merida-Tuxtla Gutierrez service, effective 04-Jun-2018. The carrier will deploy over 38,000 seats on the route in its maiden year. The carrier reported a 38% year-on-year increase in passengers from/to Mérida in 2017, achieving a market share of 18%. VivaAerobus passengers from/to Tuxtla Gutierrez increased by 40%, reaching 25% market share. According to OAG, Aeromar and TAR Aerolineas operate the route.
