Viva Air Colombia: Government assistance is welcome but not enough

Viva Air Colombia welcomed the measures announced by the Government of Colombia to assist the aviation industry, but stated they are not enough (Reportur, 07-Apr-2020). Viva Air CEO Felix Antelo stated: "The credit line… is insufficient, we need more". The maximum credit being offered is USD1 million. He added: "We need higher credit lines, but not stratospheric. We ask for reasonable interest, but not zero interest". Mr Antelo suggested that global recovery is probably by the end of 2021, but expects Colombia to recover faster than Europe and US.
