Virgin Australia to operate minimal domestic schedule until 07-Jun-2020

Virgin Australia announced (16-Apr-2020) plans to resume the operation of a minimal domestic schedule from 17-Apr-2020 to 07-Jun-2020, in response to a request by Australia's Government. The schedule will allow to transport passengers and keep important freight corridors open during the coronavirus pandemic. The carrier will operate 64 services weekly according to the following schedule:
  • Melbourne:
    • Adelaide: Three times weekly;
    • Brisbane: Daily;
    • Canberra: Three times weekly;
    • Perth: Daily;
    • Sydney: Daily;
  • Brisbane:
    • Melbourne: Daily;
    • Sydney: Daily;
    • Cairns: Three times weekly;
    • Mackay: Five times weekly;
    • Rockhampton: Three times weekly;
    • Townsville: Three times weekly;
  • Sydney:
    • Melbourne: Daily;
    • Brisbane: Daily;
    • Gold Coast: Three times weekly;
  • Canberra
    • Melbourne: Three times weekly;
  • Adelaide
    • Melbourne: Three times weekly;
  • Perth
    • Melbourne: Daily;
    • Broome: Three times weekly;
    • Port Hedland: Twice weekly;
    • Newman: Twice weekly;
    • Karratha: Twice weekly;
    • Kununurra: Twice weekly;
    • Kalgoorlie: Twice weekly.

The schedule is in addition to the international repatriation services to Los Angeles and Hong Kong. Virgin Australia continues to transport cargo internationally and domestically and provide charter services to their resources and adhoc clients. [more - original PR]
