Virgin Australia suspends Hong Kong services

Virgin Australia suspended (06-Feb-2020) Australia-Hong Kong services following a comprehensive review of the route. Virgin Australia Group commercial officer John MacLeod reported: "Hong Kong has continued to be a challenging market. With a decline in demand following ongoing civil unrest, and growing concerns over the coronavirus outbreak in the wider region, we have made the decision to withdraw services". Virgin Australia previously announced the suspension of Melbourne-Hong Kong service, effective 11-Feb-2020. The Sydney-Hong Kong service will cease from 02-Mar-2020. [more - original PR]
