Virgin Australia reports 56% of 2018 pilot cadet intake is female, exceeding its target

Virgin Australia reported (15-Nov-2018) its intake for the 2018 Pilot Cadetship Programme is 56% female, exceeding the carrier's target of a 50:50 male to female intake ratio. The carrier reported the intake is a 200% increase on the female intake for its previous programme. The cadetship will run for 54 weeks at Flight Training Adelaide. At the end of their training, the cadets will graduate with a Commercial Pilot Licence and will be offered roles as certified First and Second Officers with Virgin Australia. [more - original PR]
