Virgin Australia implements new biosecurity measures

22 July, 2020

Virgin Australia implemented (21-Jul-2020) the following biosecurity measures due to coronavirus:

  • Contactless check in via the Virgin Australia website or app;
  • Working with airports to ensure social distancing measures are applied throughout terminals;
  • When boarding a service, guests are encouraged to scan their own boarding passes to reduce unnecessary contact;
  • New sequenced boarding and disembarkation process;
  • More frequent cleaning of high touch surfaces on the aircraft and within the airport;
  • Guests are encouraged to bring and use their own face masks and hand sanitiser for their journey. Hand sanitiser and masks are also available upon request;
  • Maintaining high cleaning standards and increased frequency of cleaning on the ground and in our aircraft using a special long lasting antibacterial and antimicrobial cleaning agent.

While complimentary water and a snack will continue to be served to all guests, to reduce unnecessary contact between guests and cabin crew, additional food and drinks will not be available for purchase onboard. [more - original PR]
