Virgin Australia Group makes further capacity reductions in response to coronavirus

Virgin Australia implemented (25-Mar-2020) further group capacity reductions in response to coronavirus. Details include:

  • Group domestic capacity reduction of 90% and temporary grounding of 125 aircraft;
  • 10% domestic capacity retained for transportation of essential services, critical freight and logistics;
  • Suspension of Tigerair Australia flying effective immediately;
  • Approximately 80% of workforce to be temporarily stood down;
