Virgin Australia Group MD and CEO John Borghetti, speaking at the Virgin Australia AGM, reported (07-Nov-2018) the following operational highlights for FY2018:
- Introduction of onboard WiFi on North America services and equipping 60% of its domestic fleet with WiFi technology. The remainder is expected to be rolled out by Feb-2019, with its fleet of A330 aircraft to be fitted with WiFi by Sep-2019;
- Introduction of IFE on charter services;
- Introduction of self service check in at Sydney Kingsford Smith Airport and Adelaide Airport;
- Launch of Melbourne Tullamarine Airport redevelopment plans;
- Introduction of freight capacity on Hong Kong services;
- Improvement of Tigerair Australia LCC market presence;
