Victorian Govt: Airport rail link to commence within decade, to 'transform' regional communities

Victoria's Premier Daniel Andrews stated construction of a rail link connecting Southern Cross Station and Melbourne Tullamarine Airport will commence before the completion of the Metro Rail Tunnel in 2026 (The Age/ABC, 23-Nov-2017). Mr Andrews added: "It can't just be an expensive funnel for tourists and business people between the CBD and airport... Instead, it can transform the way people live, work and travel across Victoria. In our view, the airport rail link has the potential to unlock western and northern Victoria".
