Uvet Group: Italy-China bilateral 'unbalanced' in favour of Chinese carriers

17 September, 2018

Uvet Group president Luca Patané will meet with ENAC to discuss "various issues" including bilateral negotiations with China, which he believes are "essential" (Guida Viaggi, 14-Sep-2018). Mr Patané believes the current arrangements for air transport between the countries are skewed towards Chinese carriers, referencing the current agreement as "unbalanced". Mr Patané said the negotiations are "not just for us" but for other airlines including Neos, Air Italy and Alitalia to achieve a "political defence". As previously reported by CAPA, Uvet Group's carrier Blue Panorama Airlines suspended plans for China services from Bologna Guglielmo Marconi Airport due to "licensing difficulties".
