Australia's Minister for Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Development Michael McCormack announced (22-Feb-2019) investments for an extension and upgrade of the Goldfields-Esperance airstrip. The Australian Government committed AUD1.7 million (USD1.2 million) from the Remote Airstrip Upgrade Program, the Western Australian Government committed AUD1.75 million (USD1.25 million) and the Shire of Dundas committing USD1.6 million (USD1.15 million).
