US reports strong traffic growth to Europe, Mexico, Oceania and Africa

US National Travel & Tourism Office reported (14-Feb-2018) strong traffic growth to Europe, Mexico, Oceania and Africa and "solid growth" to other regions in Nov-2017. US travel to all international regions totalled 6.5 million, up 13% year-on-year, while overall US outbound travel increased 10% year-to-date to 79.8 million. US travel to overseas markets stood at 2.7 million, up 9% in Nov-2017 and up 10% for 2017:

  • Europe: 929,000 travellers, +15%;
  • Caribbean: 567,000, +4%;
  • Asia: 508,000, +6%;
  • Central America: 217,000, +7%;
  • Middle East: 190,000, +6%;
  • South America: 158,000, +7%;
  • Oceania: 75,000, +12%;
  • Africa: 30,000, +17%.

US travel to 'other' North American markets totalled 3.8 million and was up 16% in Nov-2017. Travel to Canada and Mexico for the year (44.7 million) was up 10%. [more - original PR]
