US House, Senate committees include seat size regulation in FAA reauthorisation, remove baggage fees

    US Senator Bill Nelson stated the House and Senate committees agreed to take action on “ever-shrinking seats” on aircraft, and included a proposal to regulate seat size and pitch in the US FAAreauthorisation bill (AP/airlinegeeks.com/Reuters/Washington Post, 23-Sep-2018). Mr Nelson noted: “Relief could soon be on the way for weary airline passengers facing smaller and smaller seats”. The bill also proposes to remove a clause that sought to restrict baggage fees to “reasonable and proportional” amounts.
