US Department of Transportation (DoT) received (09-Aug-2019) a letter from United Airlines regarding Monterey Regional Airport‘s request for a Small Community Air Service Development Program (SCASDP) grant, wherein the carrier noted it may potentially suspend Denver-Monterey service in the future if the route’s financial performance does not improve. United launched the service despite the airport not receiving a SCASDP grant in 2018, and noted the route results have been challenging. [more – original PR]
