US DoT: JetBlue Airways approves transferral of Mexico City slot pair to United Airlines

US Department of Transportation (DoT) received (29-Nov-2019) a response from JetBlue Airways regarding United Airlines' request for one Mexico City slot pair which JetBlue plans to divest upon termination of its service at the airport from Jan-2020. JetBlue said it is in support of United's request and has no objection to transferring the slot in the event of the DoT's approval, adding it is clear that Delta Air Lines and its partners continue to accumulate slots at Mexico City and other key international airports, constituting a barrier to new entrant competition from carriers such as JetBlue.
