US Department of Transportation (DoT) released (18-Jul-2019) the Air Travel Consumer Report for May-2019, which found reporting marketing carriers posted a mishandled baggage rate of 6.26 mishandled bags per 1000 checked bags, compared to 5.40 mishandled bags per 1000 checked bags in Apr-2019. Additionally, airlines reported checking 61,668 wheelchairs and scooters and mishandling 951, a rate of 1.54% mishandled compared to 1.30% mishandled in Apr-2019. [more – original PR]
