US BTS: 145.6% increase in airline service complaints in 1Q2020

US Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) released (20-May-2020) the Air Travel Consumer Report for Mar-2020 and 1Q2020, which found the following details regarding complaints for airline service, disabled passenger treatment and discrimination:

  • Mar-2020:
    • Airline service: 5064, +347.3% year-on-year;
    • Disabled passenger treatment: 34, down from 58;
    • Discrimination: Six;
  • 1Q2020:
    • Airline service: 7557, +145.6%;
    • Disabled passenger treatment: 176, up from 167;
