Uruguay's Minister of Tourism Liliam Kechichian confirmed negotiations for Air France to recommence operations in Uruguay (Hosteltur, 31-May-2018). Ms Kechichian aims for Air France to resume Paris CDG-Montevideo Carrasco service. As previously reported by CAPA, the route was suspended in winter 2017/18 for Air France to focus capacity development at Buenos Aires. Ms Kechichian did not specify if a return would see Air France operating the route directly or through its new Fortaleza joint hub operation with KLM and GOL.
