CAPA: United, Delta expect more than USD4bn in capex in 2019 due to fleet optimisation

27 February, 2019

CAPA - Centre for Aviation, in a report entitled: 'United and Delta fleets: projected capex shows revamps well under way', stated (27-Feb-2019) Delta Air Lines and United Airlines' pursuit of cost and efficiency goals is reflected in their fleet plans. United is looking for new and used aircraft, while Delta is waiting to receive the first of its new family of A220-300s. Both airlines expect more than USD4 billion in capex in 2019 as they work to optimise their fleets. While Delta is confident of the A220-300s ability to benefit the airline, it could potentially fall behind cost and efficiency goals due to the effects of the US government shutdown.
