United Airlines expands personal device entertainment options

United Airlines has expanded its personal device entertainment system to include “at least one free” option on WiFi equipped aircraft, which previously only offered DIRECTV live streaming for purchase. The carrier also improved accessible entertainment options for customers with disabilities. United will distribute free cardboard phone stands which prop up devices and allow hands free viewing. The airline is continuing to install in-seat power outlets and new broadband controllers to offer more bandwidth and “largely solve the outage issues we experience on our Panasonic fleets”. [more – original PR] [more – original PR – II]
