Uganda to raise USD388m for launch of Uganda Airlines

Uganda's Government aims to raise USD388 million to support the launch of Uganda Airlines by Sep-2018 (The EastAfrican, 05-Feb-2018). The government will raise USD70 million in four tranches over three years and another USD318 million for aircraft acquisition will be sourced through a combination of banks, private equity firms, international aircraft finance lenders, lessors, government borrowing, export credit agencies and cash. The airline is proposed to initially operate a fleet of four Bombardier CRJ900 and two A330-200 aircraft.
