TUI Group published (23-Jan-2018) a study of German leisure travel trends based on its own passenger figures. Highlights include:
- Passengers under 40 prefer all inclusive packages and travel more frequently in summer;
- Passengers over 60 less likely to book package tours and they disproportionately travel in winter;
- Spain, Greece, Germany and Turkey are the most popular travel markets regardless of age group;
- Short trips of up to five days are primarily booked by younger travellers;
- Travel periods of two weeks and longer primarily booked by passengers over 60;
- 65% of all passengers opt for four star hotels. [more – original PR – German]
