Tourism & Events Queensland: Australian travellers achieve record spending in Queensland

Tourism & Events Queensland reported (17-Jul-2019) record visitor spend for domestic visitors in Queensland for the year ended Mar-2019. According to National Visitor Survey (NVS) results, total visitor arrivals increased 12.2% year-on-year and spent a record AUD18.5 billion (USD13 billion). State Tourism Industry Development Minister Kate Jones noted Queensland reached a market share of 24.8%, with NVS data showing the state welcomed more than 24.6 million overnight visitors, a 12.2% increase.
