Top 20 Australian airports growth comparison

Australia’s airports continue to see impressive growth year-on-year with overall results showing a 2.7% increase for Jul-2017.

The Sunshine Coast topped the list for the full year ending Jul-2017, with a 10.4% increase. This growth has been greatly assisted by direct seasonal services available between Auckland the Sunshine Coast. Visit Sunshine Coast CEO Simon Latchford reported visitor numbers from New Zealand to the Sunshine Coast increased 5.5% year-on-year to 66,000 in the year ended Mar-2017. Mr Latchford noted: “We are the only Queensland regional tourism organisation with a representative in Auckland and that presence is allowing us to focus strongly on driving visitation from our number one international market”. Air New Zealand resumed seasonal Auckland-Sunshine Coast service on 07-Jul-2017.

Hobart Airport, which had the highest growth for the month of Jul-2017, has recently undergone refurbishments which included an extension of its runway and renovations at its arrival hall.
