The Sustainable Traveller sees increasing number of green travellers

The Sustainable Traveller founder Dayana Brooke, speaking at the CAPA Australia Pacific Aviation & Corporate Travel Summit, stated (08-Aug-2019) there is “definitely” an increasing number of “responsible” or “green” travellers, but added there is still a “lot of confusion” as to what these terms mean. She noted flight shaming is “growing” in Europe and the millennial market, with consumers questioning the need to fly and the younger generation demanding transparency from aviation and the whole industry. Ms Brooke stated the industry “may be lagging behind a bit” from what consumers are expecting in regards to sustainable and ethical options, saying focus needs to be placed on creating channels between the industry and consumers.
