Thailand to delay 'travel bubble' scheme due to increased cases overseas

9 July, 2020

Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand director general Chula Sukmanop reported discussions over a 'travel bubble' scheme will be put on hold due to a resurgence of COVID-19 cases in several countries (Bangkok Post, 08-Jul-2020). Mr Chula stated domestic tourism will be important to rebuild the country's aviation industry, adding domestic demand has increased following the resumption of services. As previously reported by CAPA, the travel bubble scheme would enable visitors from low risk countries to enter Thailand without the mandatory 14 day quarantine.
