Thai Government planning tourism stimulus package for late 2018

Thailand's Deputy Prime Minister Somkid Jatusripitak said Cabinet is expected to approve a stimulus package in Nov-2018 designed to encourage tourist arrivals, particularly from China (TNA, 28-Oct-2018). Measures will include free flights to second tier tourist provinces, a visa on arrival waiver and tax adjustment for jewellery purchases. The programme will involve Thai Airways, the Tourism Authority of Thailand and the Ministry of Finance and will run until the end of Dec-2018.
