TAP Air Portugal reports double digit growth or higher on all Spanish routes in 2017

    TAP Air Portugal reported double digit growth or higher on all Spanish routes in 2017 (PressTUR, 17-Jan-2018). The strongest growth was at Vigo Airport, with a passenger growth of 179.9%, while the weakest gains were at Barcelona El Prat Airport with 19.2%. Overall, TAP recorded a 40.1% share of passengers between Portuguese and Spanish airports in 2017, up from 34.2% in 2016.

    The airline has announced (17-Jan-2018) plans to increase services to Spain in 2018, including:

    • Resume twice daily PortoBarcelona service from Mar-2018;
    • Increase LisbonSeville frequency to three times daily for summer 2018.

    Spanish routes represent 12% of TAP‘s total passengers with load factors on the routes totalling 85.5%. TAP operates 217 weekly services between Portugal and Spain, serving 11 Spanish airports. [more – original PR – Spanish]
