Tampa in talks with Bogota El Dorado International Airport on establishing new direct route

Tampa International Airport (TPA) director of research and air service development Kenneth Strickland claims TPA officials have been speaking with Bogota El Dorado International Airport about establishing a nonstop service in 2018 (Tampa Bay Business Journal, 23-Jul-2018). Mr Strickland stated: "For the past six months we've been working with the airport on targeting different airlines that could serve that route". According to Mr Strickland, Avianca Airlines is the first airline the airports considered. Other possibilities include Spirit Airlines and Southwest Airlines.
