Talofa Airways Limited to launch international services 'sometime next year if possible'

Talofa Airways Limited CEO Jeffrey Hunter reported the carrier plans to operate to Niue as well as Wallis and Futuna "sometime next year if possible" (Smart Aviation Asia-Pacific, 26-Sep-2019). Mr Hunter said: "Niue, and Wallis and Futuna have always been goals for us" and the routes are important "to open because we are very much culturally linked". Mr Hunter said the carrier has "thought about larger Twin Otter style aircraft" however "we find the costs of carrying additional fuel to make the long distances in the region prohibitive". As previously reported by CAPA, Talofa Airways reportedly placed a bid to operate Wallis and Futuna Islands services in Jun-2019.
