Swoop to launch service to the US in autumn 2018, reveals plans for remaining 3 aircraft

    Swoop announced (02-Aug-2018) plans to launch the following routes to the US in autumn 2018, as per a 02-Aug-2018 GDS inventory and timetable display:

    • Abbotsford-Las Vegas: Three times weekly service to launch on 11-Oct-2018;
    • Edmonton-Las Vegas: 11 times weekly service to launch on 11-Oct-2018, replacing WestJet;
    • Edmonton-Phoenix Mesa: Twice weekly service to launch on 27-Oct-2018. WestJet will not resume its own seasonal service;
    • Hamilton-Fort Lauderdale: Twice weekly service to launch on 26-Oct-2018;
    • Hamilton-Las Vegas: Four times weekly service to launch on 26-Oct-2018. WestJet will not resume its own seasonal service;
    • Hamilton-Orlando: Three times weekly service to launch on 17-Oct-2018. WestJet will not resume its own seasonal service;
    • Hamilton-Tampa: Three times weekly service to launch on 20-Oct-2018.

    Swoop will deploy Boeing 737-800 on each route. The airline noted this will make it the “first Canadian ULCC to cross the border”.
