Swoop CEO: WestJet 'leaving the lower end of the market'

14 February, 2019

Swoop president and CEO Steven Greenway said the airline is catering to a different market from WestJet, and is "going into airports that WestJet doesn't serve or are underserved" (Routes Online, 13-Feb-2019). Mr Greenway noted WestJet is now "targeting the corporate market" and "leaving the lower end of the market", leaving Swoop to focus on secondary cities. As previously reported by CAPA, Jetlines is looking to utilise secondary airports serving primary population centres.
