Swissport team testing wearable devices for ground handling staff at Melbourne Airport

Swissport reported (29-May-2019) a team at the company's Melbourne Tullamarine Airport location is testing a wearable device which measures body movements and quantifies the risk based on measuring displacement frequencies and force. The device is fitted with an alarm which can be set to immediately alert the wearer once they make a high-risk movement. The initiative is part of a global innovation programme which was launched two years ago and includes the company's 'LiftSuit' a wearable exoskeleton. [more - original PR]
