Switzerland‘s Federal Council adopted (03-Jul-2019) a series of measures aimed at reducing greenhouse emissions produced by the government and achieving carbon neutrality by 2030. Highlights include:
- Air travel: Preference for federal employees to choose economy class seating and travel in smaller delegations;
- Ground vehicles: Shift towards electric vehicle fleets used by the Swiss administration and increasing electric vehicle infrastructure, with at least one in five cars registered for use by the government to be electric by 2020. [more – original PR – French]
