SWISS considering basing more aircraft at Geneva, more long haul destinations

SWISS head of western Switzerland Lorenzo Stoll stated repositioning of the carrier at Geneva Airport was to "create the base for the next step", including the airline's presence at the facility by 2022/2023 (CNN Money Switzerland, 11-Jul-2018). Mr Stoll stated there is a "need to further establish ourselves" and the Lufthansa Group is considering "adding a certain number of aircraft" for SWISS' Geneva base. The carrier currently stations eight short haul and one long haul aircraft at Geneva. Mr Stoll confirmed new long haul options are also being considered.
