Sunshine Coast Airport signs three way tourism partnership leveraging development of new runway

Sunshine Coast Airport, Tourism Noosa and Visit Sunshine Coast signed (24-Oct-2017) the Sunshine Coast Aviation Partnership, a three year agreement to leverage development of an upgraded international airport. Details include:

  • Agreement follows Sunshine Coast Council's approval for a new 2450m runway and upgrades to existing terminal and apron facilities scheduled for completion in 2020;
  • New marketing plan to drive tourism growth in the region;
  • AUD400,000 (USD310,000) p/a marketing spend to grow business from key interstate markets of Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide, along with New Zealand;
  • Targeting routes identified as having potential to generate sustained growth and regional dispersal.
