Stewart International Airport USD34m redevelopment project proposed by Governor Cuomo

New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo proposed (30-Dec-2017) a USD34 million development project to improve and revitalise Stewart International Airport, including:

  • Construction of permanent federal inspection station at Stewart, requiring an investment of USD27 million. Construction works are scheduled to commence by 3Q2018 and conclude by 1Q2021;
  • Improve a rebrand Stewart Airport Express dedicated bus service to transport passengers between Stewart and midtown Manhattan;
  • Develop solar carport photovoltaic system at Stewart;
  • Rename Stewart International Airport as New York International at Stewart Field. [more - original PR]
