Spirit Airlines seeing 'some softness' in Dominican Republic: CCO

7 February, 2020

Spirit Airlines CCO Matt Klein said the carrier's Latin America and Caribbean routes are performing "very well", while the "domestic traffic trends at our price levels remain strong" (Seeking Alpha, 06-Feb-2020). However, he noted the carrier is experiencing "some softness in the Dominican Republic" and has subsequently cut capacity. The carrier is also experiencing "looser inventory controls for leisure fares in the domestic network", in turn affecting its yields, though demand "remains good".
