Spirit Airlines generates more than 50% of passenger revenue from non-ticket items

Spirit Airlines president and CEO Ted Christie reported (24-Apr-2019) the carrier's 1Q2019 results continued to benefit from its ticket and non-ticket revenue initiatives. Total revenue on a per passenger flight segment basis increased 1.6% year-on-year to USD109.44 with fare revenue per passenger flight segment also up 1.6% to USD53.24 and non-ticket revenue per passenger flight segment increasing 1.6% to USD56.20. The improvement in non-ticket revenue per passenger segment was largely driven by dynamic pricing initiatives and improved take rates of bundled service offerings.
